8 Months, Coxsackie and Weddings!

Wowsa, 8 months old already.

I thought those first two months would never end and ever since then time has been a flying.  He is just about the happiest baby I have ever seen (contrary to Nana and Granddudes opinion of you and your constant crying!)   Mino is sitting up as if it is no big deal, he can reach forward to grab things and pull himself back up, he has just mastered the skill of leaning forward onto his stomach, getting those pudgy little legs out from underneath him so he is on his tummy then can roll over.  Still not moving forward, whew.

It amazes me how Min can do something new every day, like get his first fever!  This morning (and probably yesterday actually, I am a bad mom and didn't recognize that all that heat he was emitting was a fever. . .) I took a temp and Wee little Min had a temp in his pit of 101.  Considering he has had everything under the sun and never gotten above 97.8 we decided a trip to the doctor was in order.  Lo and behold the amazing Foot Mouth and Hand disease has gotten the best of him. . .

Aside from all that excitement Min went to his first wedding this weekend, it was going to be weddings but one reception was not baby friendly so we got his first babysitter. . .Brittany!!

That was probably more traumatic for her than it was for us as he choked on a piece of cereal and she had to use the anti choking skillz that she learned in her babysitting courses.  The look on his face pretty much sums up his attitude for the evening I think.

We visited Jodi who was having an 8th birthday bash for Braiden:
We set up the signage in Clintonville so the whole town knew who was getting married:
And we set off on our adventures.  Auntie Lisa FINALLY said her I do's this weekend and she looked amazing.  Auntie Sarah was a bridesmaid and was quite happy about it.

Mino wanted to be sure he got pictures with both lovely ladies.

We also had to step up Min to a new carseat.  His little eggshell was getting to be too much work and his feet were hanging over the sides so we got one that is good until 65 lbs.
And obviously from the above pictures Sarah and Aaron and Gryff were in town so we got to visit with them, they were pretty tied up with wedding adventures so I did not capture a good one of all of them with Mino but I got a good one of all of them. . .

Min wasn't at this wedding, but congrats to Dr. Karen and Ted who provided Martin and I the most fun we have ever had in Hortonville!!

And in closing, a cute Mino picture!  He is starting to look like a little toddler now sometimes, which blows my mind away. . .

First Swimming Lessons

We wanted a good opportunity to meet other parents in our neighborhood and want Mino to be safe around water so thought it would be a fun idea to bring him to baby swimming lessons. We live a few blocks from a YMCA and they had classes for 6 months and up so signed us up I did.  Wow.  A ton of other parents had the same idea.  One of his little buddies from daycare happened to be there as well!

He was pretty lame at swimming lessons, other babies were kicking their legs and splashing their hands but he kinda just floated.  The kid is buoyant.  Mega buoyant and found that he doesn't have to work to float in the water.  He thought the best part were the flags above the different lanes in the pool.

Daycare has had "Water Day" recently as well, two times thus far, but the kiddos like it!  Here he is with his buddy that he actually gets to swim with at swimming lessons.

He and Wally have been working on their bonds.  As has been well documents Portos and Mino have a very physical relationship wth constant French Kissing and what not.  Mino and Wally aren't quite there but it is becoming more of a solid thing in recent time, although Wally doesn't get the whole don't use your claws and sharp teeth on babies.

I decided that I was going to document Martin and Mino every year on Fathers day. . here is round one, Father's Day 2012.

And Martin was teaching Min how to grill.  They had a very successful dinner of grilled chicken.  Waaaaay better than the Yam incident of 2012.

Swimming Pool

Life has settled down and wee little Min has not had too many new adventures this past week.  It is summer and we are settling down into normalcy now with this little human critter in our lives and have been having fun and slowing down.  We have a really good time just sitting in the back yard, reading or looking at the clouds.  Yeah.  Lack of sleep makes everything seem exciting doesn't it.  I lie, I don't have lack of sleep.  My sweet baby boy has been going to bed around 7-8 and sleeping until 6-7 in the morning so I have plenty of sleep.  I am just making up for the previous 7 months, thats it. . .

Here is sleepy little Mino after a trip to the grocery store.  His fat feet just kill me.  They are just so chunky.  You can't tell from this angle, but they are just hilarious.
Here he is enjoying his little pool.  We are watching Otis while Nana and Granddude sail Lake Michican so actually this pool is half Otis' and half Minos.

I barged in a for a bit.

I just wanted to show that my genetics have completely dominated this child.  Martin has amazing thin long legs.  Mino has mine.

Martin has been wanting a gas grill since we moved here, last summer I didn't have a job and this spring everything there was rocky so I wouldn't let him buy one.  But with our anniversary and Fathers day in the same week, I felt it was time.  I had NO idea how expensive grills were though.  I gave Martin a budget thinking I was being a high roller and that didn't cover but one grill.  Oh well, he has been cooking a bunch now (see the next picture ;) ) and it is awful pretty!

My heart just melted with this scene.  After fun swimming in the pool I had to run out to get some wedding presents, I was getting ready and came out to the living room to say good bye to my boys and this is how I found them.  Cuddled up, napping in the sun.  I love them both so much!
Oh, and he has now graduated from finger painting to using a brush at daycare.  We went out to dinner last night and he got to sit in a high chair for the first time and the hostess brought him crayons.  Call me crazy, but he is a baby right?!  What babies know what to do with art tools?  Well I guess kids these days are quite advanced.   Oh and this picture finally has Martin and me convinced that perhaps we should address the Donald Trumpness of our son's hair.  It is a bit out of control.

And last but not least I think he will be on the move soon.  He has been lunging like whoa as of late.  He will do everything within his power to not end up on his belly but if this keeps up he will be on it and he will realize that lifting up and crawling is cool. .

And P.S. Min does not need a helmet.  He met with the plastic surgeon who said that all is well so long as he isn't lounging around on his back except for sleeping.
